Cabin Overview: We call these 4 types of lodgings our "Oar Cabins": The Best Little Oar House, The Old Oar House, the Itsy Bitsy Oar House, and the Cozy Oar Bungalows. The Best Little Oar House is our highest in-demand cabin. It is most popular with families, friends and groups because of its size and its superb waterfront location. The Best Little Oar House offers a spectacular lakeside view and makes it our most popular cabin ever! The Best is modern and features four separate bedrooms with queen-sized beds; a large bathroom; a fully-equipped kitchen with pots & pans, dishes, coffee maker, toaster, microwave, and a dishwasher. The large covered front deck has a propane BBQ (bring propane - it takes a 5-gal tank). Reserve early! The Itsy Bitsy Oar House has solid walls and a roof. It's a "pretend-you're-camping" experience; it is also popular with folks who just want that "extra bed;" hunters; fisherpeople, etc. It's simple, warm and dry, and the only furnishings are a double futon bed and a chair (no bathroom.) The Itsy does have electricity. (There are no linens provided in the Itsy Bitsy -- bring your own linens or sleeping bag.) The Old Oar House features 2 rooms. It offers a queen-sized bed, sofa, and small dresser in the front room; and in the 2nd room there is a full-sized refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, and a small dining area. There is a bathroom in the Old Oar but no shower or hot water. (Bring your cooking utensils and dishware.) The Old Oar House and the Itsy Bitsy Oar House cabins are older, but they have yesteryear's charm and simplicity, and are ever-so-popular! NEW for 2009! Introducing our Cozy Oar Bungalows! They are rustic, charming, and cozy, and feature one room with a double bed and a bunk bed. The bungalows are a popular choice for tenters when we have no tent sites available -- (And kids love them! They think they're in forts.) The covered front porch has a small table for picnics, and #4-7 have a porch swing. There are no facilities (but the resort's restrooms and showers are nearby.) Each Cozy Oar has a fire ring. (Bring a grate if you want to cook on a fire). Bring your own linens or sleeping bags. There is no daily maid service or exchange of towels or linens in any of our cabins. |
